Smailor Sell

Your domains sit idle. Rent the addresses instead.

You already own the domain. List email addresses on it and Smailor runs the marketplace, the checkout, the mailbox and the billing — you collect a share of every payment, every month.

You keep 80% of every payment. Nothing to pay upfront.

  • No listing fee, no monthly fee
  • You keep the domain

How it works

Four steps, then it runs itself

The only work is the first step. Everything after it is Smailor’s job.

  1. Verify a domain

Add it to Smailor and complete the DNS records. Domain Connect does it in one click at most registrars.

    DNS setup guide →
  2. List your addresses

Pick the slugs, set a monthly price and an optional annual one. Anything you use yourself stays off the list.

  3. A buyer subscribes

Listing, checkout, payment and subscription run on Smailor. The address is reserved during checkout, so it is never sold twice.

    See the marketplace →
  4. The mailbox provisions itself

Routing, sending and the buyer’s inbox are handled on your domain. You host nothing, and you never see the buyer’s mail.

Payouts

Recurring, not one-off

Selling a domain pays once. Renting an address on it pays every month the buyer stays — and one domain holds as many addresses as you care to list.

  • 80% of every payment is yours Smailor’s 20% covers checkout, payments, mail infrastructure and buyer support.
  • Your rate is frozen at purchase Each subscription stores the commission that applied when it was bought, so a later platform change never rewrites existing revenue.
  • Nothing to pay upfront Listing an address costs nothing. Smailor only earns when you do.
  • One account, one place Sales, subscriptions and revenue live in the seller dashboard; your own mailboxes stay on smailor.com.

Control

What stays yours

  • You keep the domain Ownership never moves. You rent addresses on it — nothing is transferred.
  • Pause new sales instantly One switch per domain stops new purchases without touching live subscriptions.
  • Your price, per address Price each slug on its own. A short address can be worth many times a long one.
  • Reserved slugs protected Addresses you use, plus admin@, postmaster@ and abuse@, can never go on sale by accident.
  • Domain health in the open Nameservers, MX, SPF, DKIM, DMARC and expiry are checked continuously and surfaced.
  • Abuse is our problem too Reports, blocks and takedowns run through Smailor’s trust and safety flow.

FAQ

The questions sellers actually ask

Do I need a separate seller account?

No. There is one Smailor account. Sign in here with the same credentials you use on smailor.com — sell.smailor.com is simply the seller side of it.

What exactly am I selling?

A subscription to one email address on a domain you own — [email protected], say. The buyer gets a working Smailor mailbox on that address for as long as they keep paying. You keep the domain, and every address you did not list.

What does Smailor take?

Smailor keeps 20% of each payment and you keep 80%. The rate is locked in at the moment of purchase, so a later change never affects subscriptions you already have.

Is the revenue recurring?

Yes. Each address sold is a subscription, monthly or annual, and it pays out for as long as the buyer renews. That is the whole point compared with selling a domain once.

Can I take an address back?

You can stop offering new addresses whenever you like. Removing an address that has a paying customer on it goes through a controlled offboarding flow instead — the buyer is using it as their real email, so it cannot simply vanish.

Do I have to run any mail infrastructure?

None. You point DNS at Smailor once. Delivery, spam handling, storage, the web app and the buyer’s support are all on us.

Put an idle domain to work this week

Verify it once, list a handful of addresses, and let the marketplace do the rest.

Free to list. Smailor only earns when you do.
